Carol Cohen
From Carol Cohen:
TROPICS. That’s probably what you think of when seeing my work. For a number of years I lived and worked in the U.S. Virgin Islands and connected with the lushness, color, shapes and mystique of the tropics. That influence, matched with my fascination with beautiful fabrics - and voila - my fabric collages emerge.
Silk painting is also a media I use to create one-of-a-kind batik silk scarves and silk decorative hangings.
SPONTANEITY. No sketches, no plans - just what excites me and seems to fit as I continue artistically.
Formal Training
The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Evanston Art Center, Highland Park Art Center.
