Peggy Shearn’s current work is a series of “Dream Paintings” inspired by images and stories from dreams she has recorded over the years. Her style, which is best described as self-taught “outsider” art, is a result of her experience as a freelance graphic designer, calligrapher, illustrator, printmaker and painter, all areas she has explored without benefit of formal art education. These acrylic-on-canvas paintings are detailed renderings of the odd perspectives, strange juxtapositions, and fugitive narratives of the dream world.
