Explore with us the fantastic world of Leonora Carrington. After a short slide show of images of Carrington's masks, we will create our own, transforming foam core boards with all kinds of textural gels and assemblage.

Mary Leonora Carrington was a British-born Mexican artist, surrealist painter, and novelist. She lived most of her adult life in Mexico City and was one of the last surviving participants in the surrealist movement of the 1930s. She is known for her haunting, autobiographical, somewhat inscrutable paintings that incorporate images of sorcery, metamorphosis, alchemy, and the occult.
